Strategic Step for the Protection of Biological Diversity in Ardahan: Posof Endemic Plant Species

Ardahan İli Posof County with Ardahan University was conducted in partnership with the Social Aidation and Solidarity Association and T.C. The introduction of the project "Natural Richness to Future: Posof's Endemic Plant Flora Protection and Sustainable Nature Friendly Development Model" supported by the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations. Ardahan Valmiz Mr. Mehmet Fatih Flowerli, Secretary General of our University Mr. Mehmet Fatih, Mr. H. Caner Akkurt, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forest, Provincial Director of National Education, academic and administrative staff participated in our students. In the program, the details of the project prepared to protect the unique biological wealth of the region, to secure the ecological balance and to leave a sustainable environmental inheritance to future generations. "Ardahan Ili Endemic and Danger Categories of Rare Plant Types" in scientific presentation held under the Event, Van Faculty of Science Science at the Faculty of Science, Molecular Biology and Genetic Department Prof. Dr. Fevzi Özgönya presented a presentation titled "Ardahan Ili Endemic and the danger categories of Rare Plant Types". In scientific data that reveals the potential of phytococographically critical transition roles and biodiversity in the region; it was highlighted that factors such as excessive gruting, unconscious plant collection, constructing and climate change pose serious threat for the mostdemic species. The authorities noted that the efforts to open agriculture with uncontrolled and early grassing activities are narrow down the habitats of sensitive population by damaging the ecosystem. For a sustainable environment, all segments of the society should be more responsive in this regard. With Ardahan University, Posof Social Aidation and Solidarity Association’s joint work was expressed that scientific activities on the local scale have a strategic contribution to the protection of global biological diversity and ecological heritage. The ARÜ Young Theme Club was held in the field for a Sustainable Future and Nature Awareness after the official presentation and information phase of the program, a comprehensive field activity was carried out in order to expand environmental awareness and create social awareness for the protection of biological diversity.
