AFAD Training Program was started in the scope of ÜNIDES Project in our University

At the coordination of the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Training program was held in cooperation with the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Directorate of Kahramanmaraş Governorship under ÜNIDES Project. The opening and informing meeting held in the Conference Hall of Technical Sciences on 13 April 2026; Prof. Dekanı Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Mehmet Arslan, Deputy Dekan Prof. Professor of Emergency Aid and Disaster Management with Dr. Vesile Smoother. Dr. Nurcan Erbil and our students participated. Prof. in the opening of the program Dr. Mehmet Arslan and Assoc. Dr. Nurcan Erbil made a speech that emphasizes the importance of professional education with disaster consciousness. Following the opening speeches, general information about the scope of the event was shared by AFAD experts in the program that continues with explanations on disaster management processes. In the first day activities, our trainer students had the opportunity to meet the basic field discipline of these theoretical shares as well as search-raising and debris intervention techniques in the earthquake. During the second stage of the educational program, our students will go from a professional preparation process in areas requiring technical skills such as navigation and arbitration. In the busy calendar that will take along the week; life-saving strategies in nature, mountain walking, camping training and mountainous activities, the site experience is aimed at the highest level. After technical training, our student group will complete the program with the certificate ceremony to be held on Friday.
