Local Flavors Meet in the Kitchen: Ardahan Honey Themeed Contest Held
Our university was organized by Tourism Management and Hospitality High School, the food contest titled “Providing Plates from Balkan Recipes” in order to improve the professional knowledge and skills of students and promote the use of local products in the gastronomy. This organization, which was held for the first time in the school, was met with intense interest. The contest organized with the participation of 3rd and 4th grade students in the Department of Gastronomy and Kitchen Arts was held in two separate categories, including food and dessert. Students in the event found the opportunity to display their creativity and technical qualifications in practice. As the main product in the competition, the geo-marked Ardahan Honey was used. The selection of honey, which is located in the recipes, was selected from the products produced by our university, provided the event to integrate with the local production and sustainable gastronomic approach. The jury assessments of the competition were carried out in the framework of the integration criteria of flavor, presentation, technical qualification, creativity and honey.
