Our University completed Ardahan’s Ata Seed Roaster

Our university, one of the most important agricultural values of our region, Kavılca wheat completed its harvest in the land of 80 acres planted in our settlement. Our university has signed important projects for the protection, expansion and transfer of seed in the island with scientific research and application studies carried out for many years. Kavılca wheat, known as one of the most valuable elements of the agricultural heritage of Ardahan, which has 10 thousand years of history, has an important attribute in terms of its low and nutritional value. Studies in the field of agricultural production of our university contributes to regional development and is an example for the protection of traditional agricultural products with scientific methods. Prof. Head of Higher Education Board (YÖK) Home Erol Özvar also paid attention to the importance of the work carried out on the wheat of Kavılca, “This example studies that contribute to the regional development of the University of Ardahan had used the expressions of both the protection of the agricultural heritage of our country and sustainable agriculture.” YÖK highlighted that studies related to wheat in Kavılca are an example model for higher education and met our university’s efforts in this field. Prof. Dr. Ozturk Emiroğlu said that in the next process, projects carried out on Kavılca wheat will continue to contribute to both academic studies and the potential of our farmers.
